National Science and Engineering Week

National Science and Engineering Week 2009 (6th – 15th March): a week of science and engineering events for everyone and the Colin Chapman Museum and Education Centre are going to be involved.

National Science and Engineering Week (formerly National Science Week) is an opportunity for people of all ages, areas and organisations to take part in science, engineering and technology activities. 2008 was a huge success with an estimated 3500 events and 1.4 million attendees.

Bruce Castle Museum

Bruce Castle Museum will be supporting the National Science and Engineering week and we plan to establish a pilot version of the Colin Chapman Museum and Education Centre at the museum.

We see this as an opportunity to test drive the ideas of the museum to see what works and what does not and to establish ideas for audience development through the evaluation of the project.

Activites we have planned for the week include:

  • Film Evenings
  • Lunch time talks
  • Lotus car exhibitions
  • Interactive video displays
  • University opportunity sessions for potential engineering students

The CCMEC thanks Deborah Hitchcock, Curator, Bruce Castle Museum, for the opportunity to publicise the museum project.

Silverstone Classic 25th-27th July

This magnificent 3 day event will be held again this year at Silverstone and will feature many car clubs. From a Lotus perspective the following clubs may well be there celebrating Lotus Cars and Silverstone’s Circuits 60th anniversary.

  • Club Elite
  • Club Lotus
  • Lotus club International
  • Lotus 7 club
  • Lotus drivers club
  • HLR
